The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $156,000 - $215,000

Job Summary:

The Director, Regulatory Compliance Quality and Analytics provides leadership in implementing quality management and compliance practices that ensure the company's business operations comply with legal and regulatory obligations. This individual will interact regularly with the Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and other members of company leadership to ensure that quality principles such as data-based decision making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement support the company's approach to regulatory compliance. This role will coordinate with internal stakeholders to support sustainable processes that meet the core pillars of an effective compliance program, including culture of compliance and accountability, monitoring and auditing, investigation and response, effective controls, and training. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with diverse business areas within a leading U.S. renewable energy and utility company. This position will play a key role in integrating multiple departments together to ensure the company meets or exceeds its compliance obligations with a multitude of industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert in the use of quality management frameworks and practices to support diverse business operations and projects to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate as the primary point of contact for investigations and root cause analysis of events involving regulatory noncompliance. Develop and oversee corrective action plans to bring business operations into compliance and to promote continuous improvement. Responses to inquiries and data requests by regulatory authorities may be required.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of processes for the collection, monitoring, analysis, reporting of operational data for ensuring regulatory compliance, including development of compliance-based key performance, control and risk indicators. This position will be responsible for developing data-based benchmarking, dashboards, and statistical process control techniques for monitoring and analyzing key compliance processes.
  • Ensure implementation of policies, procedures and business practices to support audit-ready status of business processes subject to regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and leverage software and technology-based compliance and quality management solutions to support initiatives and process monitoring.
  • Support development of trainings and communications related to quality and data analytics initiatives.
  • Regulatory, internal operations, and industry research and intelligence to stay informed about evolving regulatory requirements, changing business operations, and industry leading practices.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned. Occasional travel is expected.
    Required Qualifications:

    • 10 or more years of experience implementing and maintaining QA/QC systems and practices for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Experience in industrial and regulated settings preferred (e.g., energy & utilities, manufacturing, medical, etc.).
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as compliance, quality management, industrial engineering, data analytics, operations management, business administration, information technology. Advanced degrees preferred.
    • Professional certification in quality management, root cause analysis, or data analytics, or willingness to obtain and maintain relevant certifications.
    • Expertise in standards and best practices for regulatory compliance programs under legal and industry frameworks.
    • Ability to effectively manage a team and projects involving multiple stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Position will be supported by team of two to five QA/QC and investigation staff and provide project and process support to a larger team.
    • Experiencing conducting root cause analysis and investigations and/or knowledge of root cause investigation practices.
    • Experiencing developing quantitative process dashboards and utilizing these dashboards for identifying operational issues and influencing business decisions.
    • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills, including ability to organize and ensure completion of team projects. Excellent skills in time and team management.
      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on clear and concise writing that is easily understood by employees at all levels.
      • Ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement program-enhancing initiatives, at times with outside vendors, to continually align processes with evolving industry best practices.
      • Ability to obtain and analyze information from multiple sources and to objectively develop, challenge, and verify conclusions.
      • Ability to securely handle sensitive, confidential, and privileged information.
      • Strong experience with common business software tools and ability to rapidly gain expertise in leveraging diverse third-party and internally developed software tools to monitor business processes and obtain data for analytics.
      • Ability to analyze business processes, question assumptions, and demonstrate tenacity and tact in supporting improvements to compliance-based processes.
      • Ability to prepare informative and visually creative reports, e.g., incorporating statistics, graphics, and charts, to support business decisions by company leadership.
