Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position GPS Source, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), is a world class innovator and manufacturer of high quality, high performance position, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies for demanding defense and commercial markets. -We currently have a need for a Configuration -Support Specialist supporting our Colorado Springs, Colorado location. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: - Provides both configuration management and data management support with some oversight and assistance from senior staff
- Reviews engineering documentation, reports, specifications, and drawings to ensure integrity of the documentation prior to release or change
- Analyzes proposed changes in product design to determine effect on documents such as drawings, test specifications, manuals, and ensures all documents have required approvals
- Compiles release packages ensuring all documentation is present and accurate
- Controls changes to established master files of contractually required technical data
- Notifies appropriate departments of any new or updated data
- Logs, files and tracks all necessary drawings, documents, lists and various other items
- Maintains audit trails, contributes to internal and external audits
- Identifies inconsistencies with design, production, material, or program office
- Assigns control numbers, and coordinates all approvals on documents, prior to delivery, so that documents can be tracked throughout the life of the contract
- Provides clerical support in logging, filing and tracking items in the data management library
- Performs Status Accounting audits and provides status accounting reports to management for collection of metrics
- Coordinates with Contract Management on the preparation, approval and submittal of data requirements
- Interface with Co-workers within the department
- Employees and Management outside of the department
