Overview We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a keen eye for detail to join our team as a Digital Evidence Technician.In this role, you'll handle processing, reviewing, and uploading digital evidence from different law enforcement agencies. You'll also be responsible for ordering reports and other necessary evidence to fulfill discovery requirements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to the relevant parties. This role often involves urgent, time-sensitive, and detail-oriented work. The ideal candidate thrives in such situations and collaborates effectively with their team. This position offers a Monday-Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and excellent benefits, including paid holidays and vacation and sick leave. Responsibilities Specifically, this position: - Orders and verifies media and reports to ensure completion of case files, including conducting media comparisons.
- Locates, requests, secures, and stores evidence relevant to criminal investigations; maintains accurate evidence records to preserve the chain of custody; and monitors evidence viewing by defense attorneys.
- Redacts digital audio and visual evidence in accordance with office procedures.
- Participates in training sessions on the utilization of different law enforcement agency records and media management systems.

- Demonstrate knowledge of general office practices and procedures, with the ability to proficiently use standard software and business applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, representatives from other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Operate digital cameras, recording devices, and other communication tools essential for investigations.
- Possess knowledge of legal terminology and understand the application of federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning criminal investigation, chain of custody, evidence handling, and the service of process and subpoenas.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to clients and the public.Complete assigned tasks promptly and meet performance standards and objectives. Qualifications All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process. One (1) year of experience in a law enforcement agency setting; experience with evidence handling or forensics preferred; previous experience in inventory management preferred.High School diploma or GED required. Completion of additional education or training in investigative techniques or evidence handling preferred.NCIC/CCIC certification within three (3) months of hire required.Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
