Posted On: 05/12/2024
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.We are core contributors in the test & validation of systems based on new memory technologies, ASICs, FPGAs, digital, mix-signal, analog circuitry, and power supplies PCBs and 3d models! You will need to have proven knowledge and extensive electrical, mechanical and thermal engineering experience developing test methodologies, crafting/selecting appropriate testing environments, tools, fixtures and scripts, crafting test plans and writing up test procedures to test and validate systems based on the above-mentioned technologies as well as the foresight to institutionalize the above within the HW Group. The position will require hands on system bring-up, characterization and debugging as well as knowledge of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, thermal chambers, temperature measuring equipment and mechanical instruments. We are a highly visible and ambitious group and you will be working very closely with other development groups such as hardware, software, firmware, Media, and ASIC!****Note this is NOT a Software/Firmware Test role but testing the Hardware (Frequency/Temp/Voltage/Material/etc)******Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Define the test & verification strategy, test procedures for all electrical, mechanical and thermal/Environmental of sub-assemblies and systems in environmental chambers.
- Create test plans, define and build the test and verification infrastructure in terms of tools, test procedures and scripting in one or more of Visual Studio (VC++, C#, VB), MATLAB, National Instruments LabVIEW, Python.
- Help build and train the team, including personnel and resources, that will be mainly located outside the US.
- Knowledge and hands on experience in the design, test and debug of storage and memory sub-systems, including PCIe and DDR technologies using test equipment like scopes, eye diagram masks, BERT.
- Hands on experience with Keysight's PCIe protocol for PCIe 5.0 and 6.0 test paths with PCIe protocol analyzers, PCIe protocol exercisers, and test automation for PCIe and Compute Express Link (CXL) technology designs.
- Implement hands on test and validation electrical, mechanical and thermal plans including thorough design reviews for all major sub-assemblies to guarantee only one prototype leading to the final system/module revision, and MTBF prediction, FMEA, component derating, margin test, etc. to guarantee highest quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams including electrical, mechanical and firmware engineers.
- Provide DFT input throughout the design process and review final design implementation.
- Travel to remote sites to bring up test equipment and provide training when required.
- Participate in multi-functional team meetings to present testing status and discuss/resolve test-related challenges.
- Support product certification activities, NPI, production and manufacturing, including product transfer form Engineering to manufacturing and materials procurement.
- Provide HW test mentorship to multi-functional teams for longer term/wider population testing such as DVT and RDT
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, encouraging a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Find opportunities for improvement in the way we operate and work and help implement them with management support leading to a more efficient, agile and higher quality product development process.Education/Experience requirements:
