(N) in good standing, BLS Healthcare Provider, CRT- CA License, Must be a Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear MedicineSpecial Requirements:-Experience* Must have previous experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital environment.Principal Accountabilities* Implements radiation protection and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to staff and patients.* Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.* Maintains mandated continuing education requirements.* May be required to train / precept students and new techs.* Operates a variety of complex stationary diagnostic equipment.* Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes radiopharmaceuticals and/or agents according to established protocols.* Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.-Skills* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.* Must be able to work in a rapidly changing and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in emergent situations.-Access to Protected Health Information (PHI)/ Physical Requirements/ Special Working Conditions* Access to PHI: The protected health information this position can access is all medical record information. This position requires this patient health information in order to perform the functions outlined as part of this position description.* Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
