Job Description:Rx Refill Specialists ensure the timely processing of chronic medication refills by completing accurate prescription refill request processing and prior authorization processing (if applicable). The Refill specialist functions within the guidelines outlined in the John Muir Physician Network (JMPN) chronic medication Standardized Procedure and protocols.Job DescriptionEducation:

• Completion of -Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse Program -- Required------Experience:
  • 3 years -Medication refill and prior authorization processing -- Required
  • Experience with -Electronic Medical Records (EMR) - RequiredCertifications/Licensures:
    • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association -- Required
    • Pharmacy Tech - California Board of Pharmacy - Required or
    • Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants required or
    • LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse - California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians -- RequiredSkills:
      • It is a requirement of this position that the employee be available to work some weekend shifts based on operational needs but a minimum of one weekend shift per month may be required.
      • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
