Bring your determination to succeed, and we'll provide you with the opportunity to grow!Duties and responsibilities you may own in this role:Demonstrate safe and proper restraint of fractious animalsParticipate in receiving and giving rounds to ensure continuity of careAdminister subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications and understand potential adverse effects of medicationsPerform nursing care tasks such as placing and/or maintaining urinary catheters, nasoenteral tubes, nasal oxygen tubes, chest and abdominal tubes.Exceptional nursing care skills for a variety of hospitalized patientsExperience with anesthetic procedures in an ER environmentExceptional nursing care skills for a variety of hospitalized patientsTriaging and admitting emergent casesDiagnostic procedures such as radiographs and a variety of in house lab workContinually demonstrate exceptional and empathetic client communication and education whether it be in written or verbal form in a timely manner.Basic Required Qualifications:High school diploma2+ years--of clinical experience--in the veterinary industryStrong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriateConsistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculationsMaintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)Work Schedule:Full-TimeFlexible Schedules AvailableSome Weekend and Holiday Availability Required----Perks:--Monthly in-house RACE-approved courses and staff development opportunities for--all employees!Get paid to learn!-- We'll cover eligible expenses for continuing education and coursework!We also pay YOU when you hit major career milestones, earn your RVT or your VTS and get a cash bonus!--Compensation range $18.00 - $35.00 hourly plus differentials and overtime as needed.--The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.RVT or--Senior Veterinary Assistant hiring bonus of--$5,000 for new full time employeesOur pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location.
