Software Engineer, Product Fullstack - San Francisco California
Company: Airtable Location: San Francisco, California
Posted On: 05/03/2024
Airtable's mission is to bring the power of computing and software development to everyone. We are developing a powerful and extensible toolkit that our customers can leverage to solve a variety of different problems and workflows. We've seen our most sophisticated customers use the product to run global processes across thousands of employees, coordinate precision manufacturing pipelines, and consolidate previously siloed mission-critical data into a single source of truth. The complexity of these use cases requires us to be extremely thoughtful about how we design and implement new functionality in the product and make sure it's both easy to use and comprehend for our customers and maintainable for us. As a full stack engineer at Airtable, you will have the opportunity to work with customers to deeply understand their needs and workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across product management, design, research and data science to create innovative new features that enable our customers to do their best work. You will be responsible for owning and executing the end-to-end implementation of these new features that will contribute to making our toolkit even more powerful and successful. We currently have openings on: - The Automations Teamis responsible for building and maintaining the automations product and platform. Automations extend and augment Airtable by allowing builders to automate processes and workflows and make their entire team more productive. In addition to supporting our current use cases the team is also constantly investing in new actions, triggers, and functionality that make it easier for both technical and non-technical users to push what is possible in Airtable. From helping users manipulate data to integrating with outside tools to allowing for custom scripting with stored secrets, the work this team owns is varied and touches a large part of the Airtable product and platform.
- The Engagement Team's mission is to enable users to collaborate more efficiently using Airtable. The team is responsible for building and improving features such as app sharing, user permissions, commenting and notifications. Additionally, the team is currently focused on expanding the use cases customers can leverage Airtable for by providing new ways to work with external collaborators. From a technical perspective, the team owns both the core components of the collaboration user experience and complex backend systems, such as our advanced permissions framework.
- The Use Cases Team's mission is to unlock growth in top self-serve business use cases. More recently the team has focused on building new logic and views to allow users to recalculate and track dependencies for Project Management. Next, we're branching out into new use cases like CRM and HR. For each new use case we identify opportunities to make business workflows more effective and effortless - whether it's improving and shipping pre-packaged Templates for each use case to showcase and help users activate on our product, or better email integration and templating capabilities for CRM.
- The AI Assistant Team is building a brand new Assistant feature that brings AI to open-ended, user-centric interactions across the Airtable platform. Builders on Airtable can rapidly build their own custom AI Assistants to help users perform research, update information, synthesize information, and generally automate within the Airtable platform.
- The AI Primitives Team'smission is to make Airtable the easiest way for customers to build AI applications. The team just publicly launched the first version of Airtable AI, which includes an AI text field that embeds AI into your Airtable base. The team is working on abilities to process image and documents with AI, expanding AI support to all field types, and building frameworks to help deploy and govern AI at massive scale.
Please note: while we employ a hybrid working model at Airtable (flexible in working from the office or elsewhere), we are looking to hire candidates at this level who are based in San Francisco/Bay Area or New York City who are open to coming into the office at least -2 times/week for team collaboration. What you'll do - Spec and build product features that are beautiful, consistent, and fast, that encourage exploration, and that earn the trust of our customers through predictable, reliable, and thoughtful interactions.
- Work at all levels of the stack, from AWS, Node.js, and SQL to React, HTML. and CSS to build and maintain end to end products on Airtable.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to understand the needs of potential users and build a product that unlocks their potential.
- Work alongside and learn from a talented group of engineers with a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds.
