Overview: JHNA is seeking a Senior Software/Systems Engineer to provide support on Aircraft or Weapons Systems at NAVAIR in San Diego, CA. Roles/Responsibilities: - Perform Software Systems Engineering for the acquisition, development and sustainment of various programs supporting aircraft and weapons systems.
- Perform the following activities as part of software development: system resource evaluation; software requirements evaluation; design evaluation; software definition, code, and unit test; integration test; software delivery and independent test; software quality assurance; and software configuration monitoring. Conduct reviews of Contract Data Requirements List products.
- Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews evaluating work products to Government standards.
- Participate in all software life-cycle reviews from requirements analysis, preliminary design, detailed design, integration, and test.
- Review and comment on proposed system requirements, based on Government provided information.
- Verify the system requirements meet the stated program objectives.
- Support program reviews and periodic program status meetings. Support the Engineering Change Process.
- Support Statement of Work development.
- Support technical evaluations of Request for Proposal. Make recommendations regarding human systems engineering. Experience with DOD-STD-2167A/MIL-STD-498/IEEE 12207 is preferred. Experience with Systems Software, Systems-of-Systems engineering, model-based systems engineering, or systems safety & reliability is desired. The successful candidate should possess strong communication, (written/oral), and presentation skills as well as strong critical thinking and reasoning skills.
Qualifications Required: - BS or BA degree in a Technical Discipline.
- Must have at least ten (10) years of experience in Software/Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems, consisting of the design, development, integration, and system testing of computer hardware and software.
- Must possess strong communication (written/oral) and presentation skills as well as critical thinking and reasoning skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.
- Must have the ability for occasional travel.
