OnsiteAbout Us: At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling - to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggressionWe bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threatOur team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure worldJob Summary: Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS ) is a world leader in the research, design, and manufacturing of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systemsThe Thin Films department at RVS creates coatings to support challenging Electro-Optical applications in the Space, Tactical, and Airborne marketsWe have an opportunity for a talented Principal Thin Films Process Engineer with an experienced background in the design and manufacture of optical thin film coatings Visit RVS : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zixvFAC2kA Explore Raytheon in Goleta : https://careers.rtx.com/global/en/raytheon-goleta-ca-location The ideal candidate will have familiarity with all aspects of Optical Coating technology, including designs, models, materials, and processesThe candidate will provide guidance to a staff of energetic engineers and skilled technicians to develop strategies for advanced coating technologiesThe candidate will work with other engineering disciplines to determine strategies for incorporating coated windows, lenses, filters, and detector antireflective coatings into optical systemsThe candidate should have technical proficiency in the manufacture of semiconductor components or microelectronics using vacuum system deposition processing as well as proficiency and comfort in interfacing with multiple functions including Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality, Mechanical Design Engineering, Factory Management, Equipment Engineering and Process Engineering Responsibilities to Anticipate:--- Writing and reviewing specifications for optical coatings, including spectral performance requirements, environmental and chemical exposure requirements, durability, and surface quality requirements--- Modeling and designing coatings for manufacturing in-house.--- Performing trade studies for optimization of optical coatings strategy--- Advising Systems Engineering on capabilities, both internal and external with an emphasis on Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturing--- Managing process development and improvement projects, including novel processing techniques, yield increase, throughput, and safety improvements--- Developing requirements and qualification plans for new equipment procurements.--- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with frocksBasic Qualifications:--- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a STEM degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years' experience as a Process Engineer in an Optics, Electro-Optics and/or Microelectronics environmentOr an advanced degree with 5 years of related experience.--- The Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government issued clearance is requiredU.SCitizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearancePreferred Qualifications:--- Demonstrated leadership experience.--- Experience in infrared optical coatings and materials.--- Experience with optical monitoring systems and software.--- Equipment and controls systems experience--- Project management experience--- Experience with infrared detector or systems technology.--- Active DoD Secret Clearance What We Offer : Whether you're just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation;
