Overview Position Summary: We're looking for someone to join our Microbiology lab team to handle receiving and processing clinical specimens. You'll use sterile techniques to process various samples, including molecular testing. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining lab equipment, monitoring supplies, and assisting with routine tasks. The Clinical Laboratory Technician II under direct supervision of unlicensed or licensed CLS, MLT, or section manager, functions as an unlicensed or licensed staff member in a licensed clinical laboratory performing duties approved by California business code 1269, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies. Duties and responsibilities include patient preparation, specimen preparation, client service activities, preparation and management of reagents and supplies, and performing procedures and QC functions approved by regulatory agencies. Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age and developmental issue of the patient population(s) being served. May be asked to take direction from a Lead or Senior level position. Minimum Qualifications: 1+ years experience in a large laboratory or academic institution. |
