RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and analyze job cost reports, tracking actual costs against budgets to identify variances and potential areas for cost improvement.
• Manage all accounting aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, invoicing, payables, receivables, and payroll allocations.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and to provide financial insights that support decision-making.
• Oversee the processing of construction draws and payments, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions related to construction projects.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures specific to the construction industry.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to construction accounting and taxation.
• Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to construction accounts.
• Collaborate with the finance department to improve financial processes and systems.
  QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the construction industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job cost accounting, percentage of completion accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel. Experience with construction management software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, lien laws, and other legal aspects related to construction finance.
