Come create your career with VoltVolt is immediately hiring for CNC Programmer in Torrance, CA.As a CNC Programmer you will: - Complete advanced machining projects for the automotive, aerospace, and 3d printing industries. Use CAM (NX or Fusion360 preferred) to produce 3 and 5-axis milling programs for first article parts and prototypes.
- Analyze new parts to create the overall machining strategy, select work-holding concepts, and provide DFM recommendations.
- Program, verify, and simulate 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis milling operations to manufacture first article parts including prototype suspension, powertrain, and chassis components for high-performance vehicle platforms
- Familiarity with Siemens, Haas, and Heidenhain controllers preferred.
- Experienced in the programming of vertical, horizontal, trunnion, and gantry style machines.
- Design work-holding to support needs ranging from single use R&D to high-rate production. Use CAD (NX, Fusion360, or Solidworks preferred) to design tools, jigs, and fixtures for machining operations.
- Candidate should have prior experience designing tools and a good understanding of tooling best practices.
- Use your background in CNC machining to implement novel fabrication techniques and develop new manufacturing technology
- Provide on-floor support for first article components and assist other programmers and machinists in general shop activities. Participate in the vehicle design process and provide manufacturing guidance for new parts and programs.
- Must be able to interpret drawings and understand GD&T.
- Contribute to innovative machining and workholding solutions related to additive manufacturing. Test and validate solutions, refine concepts, and assist in the patent processThis is a full time opportunity
