Together, we're working at the pace of change to improve patient lives with diagnostic tools that address the world's biggest health challenges. -The Senior Electrical Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for sustaining existing instrumentation designs, working on next-generation analyzers, and evaluating total lab automation solutions, all critical components of a Microbiology lab and revenue enablers for our business.This position is part of the Microbiology Business Unit located in West Sacramento, California and will be on-site at least 3 days a week. The manufacturing of the instruments is located at a Beckman Coulter facility in Miami with potential travel to site (- 25%). - Support the lifecycle of the existing PCBA and associated components by identifying alternatives or via redesign.
- Support root cause analysis of failures during manufacturing of instrument or field returns
- Support design and development of new products in the portfolioThe essential requirements of the job include:
- BS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience OR MS degree in same field with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Doctorate degree in same field with 0+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in design, development and sustaining of complex hardware instruments with emphasis on analog and digital circuit design with signal conditioning experience
- Experience in PCB schematic, layout, component selection, cabling, and assembly designIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
