Job Title:Vice President, Underwriting ManagerLocation:CA - Westlake VillageWhat you'll do:The Underwriting Manager will be responsible for the leadership and management of a team of underwriters to achieve the Company's production and quality goals. The ideal candidate must possess extensive conventional, government and jumbo lending experience with an in-depth knowledge of mortgage processes. Additional requirements are a high degree of proficiency with various mortgage technologies and a dynamic hands-on working style in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a large team of experienced mortgage staff in their day-to-day tasks. Training, monitoring and maintaining adherence to all underwriting policies and procedures are also important characteristics of this individual.What we are looking for: - Manage underwriters to ensure mortgage loans are underwritten per AmeriHome and Investor underwriting guidelines.
- Ensure team members are fully trained and current on company's philosophy and policies/procedures;
- Manage and review day-to-day tasks escalated by the underwriting team, Operation Account Representative managers, clients and exceptions team
- Coordinate with Senior Underwriting Manager to review and respond to QA, QC or secondary post-closing/post purchase requests
- Responsible for the training, coaching and supervision for all underwriters within the associated interpretation and application of all company overlays and agency requirements.
- Track and monitor underwriting metrics including productivity, Quality, turn-times, deactivated invalid stips, stips per loan, zero stip loans, customer service communication and all required service level agreements
- Evaluate the structure of the Underwriting team and plan for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness;
- Provide a consistent approach to new hire training of underwriters and peer managers
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new hires.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with other departments
