POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, the Charge Nurse utilizes the nursing process and organizational/leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff need for the unit, collaborates with the Staffing Coordinator, Nurse Director, and House Supervisor to ensure patients needs are met. Inspires enthusiasm and confidence by motivating and directing others toward a given objective. Develops a cohesive team ensuring maximum use of skills within the group. Consistently supports departmental and hospital goals as demonstrated by their actions. Defines responsibilities and authority limits based on the abilities of staff members, organizational needs and priorities. Demonstrates the ability to manage the unit in the absence of the Director/Assistant Director or designee. Qualifications Education/Training/Experience Minimum: - Associate Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience or equivalent
- RN skills as described for designated unit
