Position Summary Cypress Resilience Project is a program at Public Health Institute that focuses on community-based trainings in Mental Health First Aid certification, trauma informed practices and grief recovery. Founded in 2019, the team provides trainings to varied partners including but not limited to: health professionals, educators, community-based organizations, corporate clients and public health agencies. Cypress is currently in a growth phase and looking to expand its services and team. The MHFA Trainer will teach Mental Health First Aid Certification courses and support curriculum and materials development for Cypress Resilience Project. This position will report to the Program Director and Deputy Director. This is a hybrid (remote and in-person) position that will require availability to conduct trainings using online platforms and in person. This is a part-time, up to 0.475 FTE (up to 19 hours/week), position that is expected to work in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. The individual hired for this job must reside within a 50-mile radius of Oakland, CA, and be available to work onsite as required. Full pay range for this position: $27.57 to $39.31 per hour. The typical hiring range for this position is from $27.57 (minimum) to $33.44 (midpoint) per hour. The starting wage is determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Teach and co-teach Adult Mental Health First Aid classes in alignment with the Cypress Resilience Project brand and style:
- Conduct MHFA training sessions in-person and using online platforms.
- Report attendance and track participant engagement during classes.
- Distribute survey and evaluation documents and links to participants.
- Support the development of training curriculum, content and materials related to Mental Health, Trauma and Grief.
- Attend Cypress Team Meetings as necessary, including MHFA instructor meetings to discuss best practices and participant feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - 3 years of experience in training, heath education, mental health, trauma, wellness, or other related field.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or substitute with four additional years of relevant experience.
