The part-time, Flex Team Member opportunity with Blue Diamond Growers may be your answer. This Flex Team Member opportunity will provide you the experience to work 29 hours per week (maximum) , be part of the world's largest almond manufacturer in the world and work with a collaborative, engaged team at our Sacramento or Salida sites! As a Quality Inspector, you will engage in the execution of quality system tasks to ensure that Blue Diamond products meet regulatory and corporate quality assurance standards. In this role, you are responsible for Food Safety and quality sample collection and testing. Additionally, swabs, tracking sample requests, data entry, sample and sanitation verification and updating various reports. You are a leader in food safety for Blue Diamond Growers and support, role model and help execute food safety and Quality standards for BDG's manufacturing plants.RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS . - Collects environmental swabs from production equipment.
- Tracks sample requests.
- Verifies sanitation
- Engages in data entry; updates various reports and assists with any other record keeping tasks as needed.
- Ensures product quality standards are clearly defined and that the finished product quality attributes are within specification.
- Performs final quality, foreign material and moisture tests and records the test results on data sheets; enters results into corporate Quality Assurance computer program (SPC) and notifies appropriate supervision if test results do not meet specification.
- Comprehends Blue Diamond's Line Certification Program, HAACP procedures, GMP and Safety Practices.
- Collects inventory samples and specific customer in-line samples for lab analysis.
- Works collaboratively with various operations stakeholders to execute standards throughout shift work, teaching them about quality and food safety standards

- High School Diploma or GEDMinimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experienceNAOther required type(s) of functional experience (e.g. Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to perform a variety of grade analyses and follow written procedures as outlined in numerous operating procedures.
- Requires intense visual concentration and strong attention to detail;
- Possession of basic computer data entry skills, able to input results.
- Must have ability to prioritize effectively and perform multiple tasks within a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic computer and math skills are required.
- Must understand Blue Diamond worker instructions, HACCP processes and auditing, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safety practices.
- Ability to work in an team environment with strong, positive communication at various levels across the manufacturing site and beyond.Total minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree (if applicable)

- 3 years of quality assurance inspection experience
- Able to work under limited supervision. Receives guidelines from supervisor but is expected to determine appropriate action when handling all but the most unusual tasks.
- Experience exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Possession of basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of GFSI and SQF.
