Overview GovCIO is currently hiring for a Sr. Backend Developer to support a legacy system on the VRE PSES program. This position will be full-time and fully remote. Responsibilities Analyzes, evaluates, and codes requirements submitted by business unit for the legacy case management application. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Prepares operating instructions, complies documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output of requirements, input of data acquisition, programing techniques, and controls. -
Perform software development functions for database management and user interfaces to databases, reports generation, and business process applications in response to customer and infrastructure requirements. -
Deploy approved changes to the appropriate system and ensure that all customer approved changes are performing as expected and providing the desired solution. -
Engineer, develop, integrate, and support deploying solutions for specific user requirements not addressed in current baseline applications (one-off solutions), if necessary. -
Analyze and track issues/technical problems, including diagnosis and root cause analysis. -
Ensure customer configuration management practices are followed. -
Support application migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Qualifications Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience) -
Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience working as an Oracle Developer and Oracle Expert (assist others); PL/SQL and SQL scripting -
Must have experience in C++, Oracle Pro C, and Oracle Pro C++ Must have a minimum of 3 years working in an---Agile---environment (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps) -
Must understand Unix resource and shell scripting and be able to design and discuss application architecture and design patterns when necessary -
Must be a strong problem solver with the ability to quickly resolve technical and user issues -
Must be an excellent oral communicator with good writing and presentation skills -
Must be a self-starter with---demonstrable initiative---and follow through skills -
Must be highly analytical and possess proven problem-solving abilities -
Must be able to conduct independent research to lead or support the resolution of complex questions and issues -
Must have full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle -
Must have demonstrated experience planning and managing multiple tasks -
Must be able to identify/monitor space requirements for Oracle databases in development and production environments Preferred Skills and Experience |
