Martin Ave, Tucson, AZ 85721 USA Position Highlights The College of Pharmacy is inviting qualified applicants to apply for the temporary position of Outreach Assistant for the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center. The outreach assistant for the SWEHSC Community Engagement Core will play a pivotal role in supporting program coordinators in executing summer programs aimed at youth from diverse communities across Southern Arizona. This position entails the development, delivery, and administration of educational and community programs. Duties & Responsibilities - Assist program coordinators in delivering engaging educational activities to students participating in Toxic Detectives, Steps 2 STEM, Environmental Scholars and Our Land Our Education Our Health.
- Provide essential administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day summer program activities, including but not limited to scheduling, logistics coordination, and communication with participants
- Assist summer program students in preparing and delivering presentations related to environmental health topics, offering guidance on content development, presentation skills, and effective communication strategies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with educational program design and community engagement principles, especially in cultivating lifelong learning initiatives.
- Strong organizational proficiency coupled with adept communication and presentation skills essential for engaging youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated teamwork, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity crucial for effectively collaborating with and supporting participants from various communities in Southern Arizona. Minimum Qualifications
