GUEST SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE/TOUR SALES/GONDOLA ATTENDANTReports to: Tour Sales SupervisorCategory: Seasonal (April - October in Hoonah, Alaska) - Shorter contracts available. Salary Range: Seasonal $18.00 plus bonus potentialSummary:Guest Services Representatives sells tickets, ensure guests meet the required excursion requirements, ensure guests sign excursion waivers (as required), announce excursion departures, escort guests to their tour vehicle, load guest on the assigned gondola and ensure timely departures of assigned tours.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point's guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable Cruise DestinationProvide excellent customer service to all ISP guestsSell and provide guests with information about all tours available at Icy Strait PointWork as greeters to welcome guests and conduct guest orientations and line controlConduct functions, such as:Checking guests' weightVerifying driver's license informationEnsuring guests fill out waivers, as requiredSecure bag check areaEscort guests to tour vehicles or gondola and ensure timely tour departureResponsible for the safe and orderly traffic of passengers on/off an aerial gondola cabin or tourCommunicate clearly with tour guides, drivers, supervisors, gondola operators and managementPromote other Icy Strait Point venues, distribute literature and/or sell merchandiseAssist within programs wherever neededResponsible for the safe and orderly traffic of passengers on/off an aerial gondola cabin or tourAbility to work individually and as a team member when necessaryOther duties as assigned.Requirements:Adequate knowledge or willingness to learn about Tlingit cultureMust be able to learn a Tlingit IntroductionKnowledge of the local area (marine life, plants, animals, birds)Must have good verbal communication; patient and able to lead groups of kids as well as adultsStrong commitment to SafetyAbility to learn, retain and present excursion information to guests in an accurate manner.Promote other ISP venues, distribute ISP literature and/or sell ISP merchandiseThis is a safety sensitive position that is subject to drug testingMust be 18 years of age or olderPhysical Requirements & Work Environment: Willing to live in a remote, rural community Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote settingAble to walk and drive on gravel roads in inclement weatherCapable of moderate physical activity including standing, walking, reaching climbing, and lifting weight in excess of 25lbs; able to visually identify safety hazardsIcy Strait Point is a Native-owned and operated enterprise and offers Native Preference under P.L.93-638.
