PDS Tech Commercial, Inc. is seeking candidates for a Process Engineer in Vance, Alabama. -Job Title: Process EngineerJob Type: Full time; Contract, 18 months with possible extensionLocation: Vance, Alabama 35490Schedule: -Day ShiftPay Rate: $30 - 40/hrJOB OVERVIEW:Under general supervision, this position supports overall pilot line and assembly training center readiness and operations within the Production Chief Engineering (NA/QCE) department and includes planning and problem solving activities depending on the vehicle project phase.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensure project readiness of Pilot Team and Training Center by application of project management tools, developing planning timelines, schedules and work package scope and reporting systems.
- Setup, maintain and improve KPI tracking system for activities related to Model Year trials, MOPF trials, prototype builds in pilotline, and New Model Launches supported by NA/QCE.
- Plan and align resource needs for successful model introduction, including manpower, running costs, and investment needs.
- Maintain current management reports of ongoing activities.
- Develop qualification concept and associated timelines for all new-type and model-year programs at MBUSI.
- Plan and implement needed readiness activities and hardware/tooling for training activities in the assembly shop.
- Preparation of content, timing, schedules and methods of training activities of assembly team members including product training and general training requirements.
- Development of training methods and process including the use of digital tools and virtual reality technology.
- Gathering of product knowledge for new-type and model year changes to describe qualification needs to shop management.
- Support of the pilotline/training team with system and data administration, change communication and data processing.
- Coordination of training activities in assembly training center to achieve on-time qualification status. Preparation of reporting tools and key performance indicators (KPI's) to describe current status and support decision making.
- Support of planning and operation of the pilot line area and training center as needed to meet overall department goals.QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, or related area with equivalent education and experience.
- Minumum 2 years professional experience and/or Co-op experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Technicial Planning, Training
- Knowledge and understanding of automotive parts and systems
- CAD software skills
- Project Management experience
- Strong computer (MS Office) skills
- Technical problem solving and analysisPREFERRED SKILLS:
