BAE Systems is seeking an entry level Manufacturing Engineer . In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Anniston, AL facility on 1st shift, helping to build armored combat vehicles for programs such as PIM, Bradley and M88 . This position will report onsite and on a 4/10 schedule. This position will support production in a team-based manufacturing environment. In this highly hands on role, you will spend the majority of your time, up to 90%, on the shop floor resolving manufacturing related issues, providing technical support on a variety of technical tasks. You will also perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control systems, manufacturing operations, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering. Finally, you may interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will: - Apply basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems
- Select the best method or process from several existing alternatives
- Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure product built complies with the technical data package, applicable engineering standards and military specifications
- Develop and write technical documentation, make revisions to existing documentation, and provide input to technical papers or presentations / may deliver technical presentations
- Perform technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs
- Provide input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Apply basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes
- Interact with employees located at multiple facilities across the countryRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or relevant technical discipline; OR technical school degree with work experience (2 years)
- Ability to identify, define, interpret, and resolve engineering problems involving conflicting design/policy or technical requirements across functional areas and with difficult coordination requirements
- Can work independently with minimal guidance
- Effective communication skills
- Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop employees
- Strong mechanical aptitudePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
