The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center located in Dublin, GA is recruiting for a full-time BE/BC Pulmonologist. The physician will consult and treat patients in an outpatient, inpatient, and Emergency Department setting and interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and sleep studies.Physician will spend at least 80% of time in clinic answering consults for outpatient pulmonary care and providing follow-up care as needed. The remainder of the time is spent between interpreting PFTs and sleep studies and answering inpatient and ED consults. Evaluates patients to determine need for further care Prescribes medications within defined scope of practice and conducting medication reconciliationOrders diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, x-rays, pulmonary function tests and sleep studiesAssist with other collateral duties as assigned by supervisor, Chief of Staff or Director Board eligible is required and board certification is preferred Work schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Salary Range: up to $240,000 per year Recruitment/relocation incentive may be available for a highly qualified candidate The selected candidate for this position may be eligible to apply for educational loan assistance thru the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). The Physician must maintain a current registration to continue employment with the VAEducational requirements - Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted. Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.
