Design and maintain cathodic protection and internal corrosion control facilities. Conduct internal and external specialized corrosion tests on steel structures. Level 1 is an entry-level position with approximately six to twelve months of training/work experience in order to progress to the next level. Essential duties and responsibilities: Responsible for all activities related to corrosion control and pipeline integrity, including design, installation, operation, and maintenance, cathodic protection facilities, power lines, galvanic anodes, and internal corrosion control facilities.Monitor the condition of the pipeline through pipe-to-soil potentials, visual inspection, examination of coupons, data from in-line tools, etc.Monitor electrical isolation and identify points of electrical shorts.Conduct various tests, measurements, and surveys to ensure efficient operation of cathodic protection facilities.Lead efforts to design and implement effective long-term cathodic protection systems. Prepare drawings, job specifications, and contract bid documents.Assist E&C and Engineering personnel with the evaluation/development/implementation and maintenance of facility grounding systems.Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to complete and prioritize work assignments with minimal daily supervision.Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.Oversee the construction and/or work activities performed by third parties.Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.Will work non-traditional hours as needed.Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined. Minimum requirements: Education:High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a technical field or a related discipline or direct work experience in pipeline system operations may be considered a substitute for a degree. Experience/Specific Knowledge:Understand and operate all corrosion-related instrumentation.Good record of safe work practices.Working knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of coating projects.Ability to operate and maintain chemical injection and pressure access equipment.Ability to estimate the installation, operating, and maintenance expenses associated with corrosion systems.Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties.Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel). Competencies, Skills & Abilities:Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).Good verbal and written communication skills.Strong customer focus and attention to detail.
