Responsibilities Summary The Field Application Engineer - Validation will develops test specifications, fixtures, and test automation to support design verification testing and manufacturing testing of Hemisphere's GNSS boards and products. Will also be involved in SW related tasks with writing test scripts, tools & utilities. Responsibilities Field testing and data collection - Write test scripts in python, MATLAB, and C
- Write tools and utilities to analyze and display data in python, MATLAB, and C.
- Support customers must be willing to travel.
- Modify GNSS receiver code to capture or instrument data as needed.
- Track down problems in the GNSS software using various methods, including debugging tools, instrumentation of data, source code inspection.
- Run a variety of existing utilities to capture and process data. Make improvements to these utilities when needed.
- Take a proactive role in improving the processes involved in testing and troubleshooting.
- Suggest new ways to analyze, visualize and process data.
- Develop test automation software to support design verification and manufacturing test.
- Deployment of testing for new products at contract manufactures. Train operators and confirm acceptable yield, repeatability, and test cycle time.
- Support contract manufacturers to resolve test failures on existing products.
- New product verification testingThis position pays: $76,000 - $109,000 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - Bachelors' Science in Electrical Engineering or related field or Electrical Engineering Technologist.
- 2+ years of experiencePreferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python or MATLAB.
- Familiar with GNSS receiver hardware, antennas, and cabling.
- Able to process and analyze large amounts of data.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators is a plus, but not required.
- GNSS testing experience (minimum 1 year)
- Software tool development for analyzing and collecting GNSS data.
- GNSS Raw data processing knowledge
- Ability to travel approximately 10% within USA, Canada & Overseas
- Technical writing skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnosing skills.
- C and C++ software knowledge, Python, MATLABDesirable Qualifications
