Description:Alsum Farms, Inc, a sister company to Alsum Farms & Produce, Inc., is seeking a full-time dedicated and experienced Irrigation Service Supervisor to join our team! Alsum Farms & Produce, Inc. is a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions. As an Alsum Farms Irrigation Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating irrigation systems on our fields. We rely on these irrigation systems to grow our Healthy Grown potatoes.Job DetailsJob Type: Full-timeJob Schedule: The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, with additional work on Saturdays and Sundays during Planting, Harvest, and some periods in the Summer season. The typical shift starts at 6:00 am and ends at approximately 4:00 pm.Work Location: Arena, WIRequirements:Responsibilities:Maintain, repair, and operate irrigation systems on our fields during Spring through late SummerAssist in other aspects of farm operations as needed, including equipment operation, equipment maintenance, planter or hiller moves, and keeping farm storage lines running during Harvest seasonPerform higher level repair work in the farm shop during the Winter seasonOrganize, plan, and order parts for the next irrigation seasonTravel between farms to provide irrigation system maintenance and supportUse a laptop or iPad to remotely operate irrigation equipmentIndependently monitor the irrigation needs of assigned crops and take necessary actionsQualifications:Extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and working with 480-voltage equipment requiredPost-secondary electrical education is preferredPrior experience working on a farm and familiarity with farm operations are essentialKnowledge of other farm equipment and machinery is preferredStrong problem-solving and diagnostic skills for irrigation system maintenanceProficiency in using laptops or iPads for remote operation of irrigation equipmentStrong work ethic and the ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environmentAbility to adapt to a seasonal business and take on short-term roles during the off-seasonExcellent time management and organizational skillsAbility to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a teamAbility to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software as a userValid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to drive a manual truck is requiredPhysical DemandsAbility to climb stationary ladders and climb in and out of machineryCan lift, move, push, and pull up to 100lbsAbility to use hands to fix and replace machinery partsHave physical stamina as you need to be able to perform laborious tasks as needed to assist farm personnelExposure to airborne particles or fumesMust wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areasAlsum BenefitsAlsum Farms & Produce offers its full-time (30 hours or more) employees:Employer contributed health planEmployer paid life insuranceVoluntary dental, life, disability, and vision insuranceVacation and holiday payProfit sharing401(k) with company matchEmployee discountsEducational assistance programWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free WorkplacePIf1f1fbc22475-25660-33740898 More...
