General information All posting locations: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, United States of America Job Function: 06 - Manufacturing Date Published: 12-Apr-2024 Ref #: R-81422 Remote, Hybrid or Onsite: Onsite Description & Requirements Summary Statement: Repairs and maintains all types of production equipment, including new equipment, while maintaining a quality production environment. Generates and implements innovative ideas for plant improvements and modification of existing equipment. Fabricates complex parts for existing and new machines by following blueprints and sketches. Work with other departments in major equipment upgrades and modifications. Trains other employees on the theory and operation of plant equipment. Primary Role and Responsibilities: - Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Dismantles machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
- Assembles, installs, or repairs pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
- Performs routine maintenance, such as inspecting pumps, belts, checking fluid levels, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
- Reads and follows equipment manuals, blueprints, sketches, layouts, and Maintenance Work Order Requests
- Works with Predictive Technology Equipment (Thermography, Ultrasound, and Vibration) to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Uses shop equipment to perform repairs ( Lathe, Mill, Drill press, Torch, Saws, Grinders, and Welders )
- Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Works as a team member while completing all assignments efficiently
- Works with tight measurement tolerances (.000x)
- Follows all site safety standards ( LOTO,PPE )
- Documents time spent in plant on the Maintenance Work Order in SAP
- Organizes projects (plans, bids, set-up and installation)
- Resolves problems independently and in groups
- Works with the storeroom to manage spare parts and inventory
- Responsible to follow FSQ requirements such as GMPs and other daily/job specific duties to support QRMP
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader
Education and Experience Requirement: Minimum requirements include an Associates/Technical Degree in Industrial Maintenance and two years of related experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: - Mechanical- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, including detailed knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Repairing- Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Troubleshooting- Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Critical Thinking- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Active Learning- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Facilities management software- Computerized maintenance management system CMMS
- Electronic mail software- Microsoft Outlook
- Office suite software- Microsoft Office
- English Language- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
