Description: The Gund Company has an immediate opening at our - - - - - Waukesha, WI manufacturing plant for a full-time entry level Second Shift Machine Operator working on our composites molding press/pultrusion line. Shift: Second (2:30pm - 11pm Mon-Fri)Hourly Wage: $22-$24/hour (plus 15% Shift Premium) Plant/Work Location: 809 Philip Drive Waukesha, WI 53186 What we do: The Gund Company is in the business of engineered material manufacturing. We are the industry leader in manufacturing and fabricating specialized engineered thermoplastic materials that provide a unique performance advantage. (think: Customized non-conductive parts for diverse industries). We manufacture and fabricate custom parts from drawings and sample parts (reverse engineering). Our team prides themselves in being a group of fun, driven, problem-solvers who LOVE what they do! What are we looking for? Individuals to form molded fiberglass and polyester sheets (an shapes) using various types of manufacturing equipment.

  • Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets by laying up material to the desired thickness and spreading resin according to customer orders per instructions on customer work orders
  • Set up machines; select and install components such as dies, shims and stops using hand tools; load programs and set machine parameters per work order instruction.
  • Run machines to compression mold sheets of various grades and thicknesses, pultrude shapes and sheets by properly operating machines and maintaining raw materials.
  • Trim/file, de-flash, measure and inspect molded sheet edges,
  • Record and maintain production data (such as tolerance readings, and quantities, types, and defect)
  • Label and palletize finished good materials from machines per order specifications
  • Clean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses
  • Move materials, supplies, components, and finished products between storage and work areas, using work aids such as carts, forklifts and hand trucksRequirements: What do we need from you?
    • Forklift experience, required
    • Basic to Intermediate math skills (Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide), required
    • Prior hands on experience (vocational or job-related course work or training), preferred
    • Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching or compounding equipment, preferred
    • Experience working with hand tools and measuring instruments (repair & maintenance), preferred
    • Mechanical knowledge - enjoy car and appliance repair type of activities and/or DIY home improvement projects
