Leveraging our growing differentiated technology portfolio, world class manufacturing capability, and other integrated services across the Catalent network, Catalent Biologics is positioned to drive significant growth for Catalent.The central engineering team is responsible for all major capital expansion (> $1MM) and strategic planning across the corporation.-- The team is also responsible for the harmonization of practices and standards across sites.--This position will support a major Drug Substance expansion project ($70+MM) at the Madison site.-- This role will involve partnering with the Project Team on project controls activity coordination relating to cost and schedule tracking/reporting.-- Interface with multiple internal and external departments and multiple contractors and trade personnel to gather information and generate reports.This position will work on moderately complex project controls activities that will require good organization skills, effectively leading meetings and working with trades, working with multiple departments and driving results.-- This position will require communication with all levels of the organization. This position is also responsible for detailed project spend tracking and forecasting and project timeline tracking. Reviewing and entering purchase orders after bid process.This is a full-time on-site position, Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm.Catalent is committed to a Patient First culture through excellence in quality and--compliance, and to the safety of every patient, consumer, and Catalent employee.----The Role - Oversees the tracking of project schedules and cost adherence.
- Generate project control reports following global standards and forecasts.
- Develops cost estimates and identifies resources needed to complete project activities, using project cost management processes.
- Establishes cost baseline and capital expenditure (CapEx) requests, and monitors and reports on baseline using forecasting tools and earned value management.
- Performs variance analysis and makes recommendations for change, to ensure scope, cost, schedule, and quality commitments are met.
- Responsible for sending out Requests for Pricing in conjunction with procurement, creating bid tabs for selection, entering purchase requests, and tracking delivery and invoices.
- Requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision-making, dependability, good judgment, reading, memorizing, social skills, speaking, stress control, and writing.
- Other duties as assigned.The Candidate
- Engineering degree preferably in Construction Management, Chemical, Biochemical, Mechanical, or Electrical. Equivalent Experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in capital project controls management preferably in chemical or construction-related industry.
- Advanced training in Cost Controls, Earned Value, and Project Management
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete assignments in the expected time frame and independently seek out additional work when tasks are completed ahead of time.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively under high pressure with multiple deadlines. Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills in English - written and oral.
- Ability to use Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, and other office systems.
- Ability to formulate increasingly complex and comprehensive materials such as authoritative reports and/or to create/deliver formal and informal presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow/retain detailed written and verbal instructions in an accurate, timely, safe, and professional manner with supervisor, group members, and other departments as necessary, professionally, and accurately.Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, grasping.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Must comply with EHS responsibilities for the position.
- Working in a lab environment will require working with skin irritants, lung irritants, electrical equipment, sharp instruments, toxic materials, and hazardous waste. Safety procedures must be followed to minimize exposure, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and clean room gowning.
- Working conditions will be Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioned controlled.
