Essential Job Functions:Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of Fabrication floorOversees efficiency through monitoring production, scanning make-sheets, and discussing daily goals with SupervisorsDirects Supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery datesHandles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible, working closely with Human Resources department as necessaryMaintains acceptable yield levels on all products while producing product to specificationPerform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issuesHelp develop the management team of the Fabrication floor through active participation in group meetings, line meetings and supervisory meetingsTrains and develops supervisors providing guidance on managerial and teamwork skills to attain department objectivesWorks closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforcedEnsure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is understood and enforcedMust maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and help address any USDA regulatory issuesContribute to the ongoing development of JBS policies and proceduresCommunicate to all levels within the organization any issues involving the Fabrication FloorAll other duties as directed by Operations or Plant ManagerExperience Required:High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not requiredMinimum 5 years
supervisory experience working in meat processing plant, preferred but not required.Experience working with Kronos and SAP systems preferred but not requiredSkills/Abilities Required:Strong written and verbal English communication skills, problem solving skills and leadership qualitiesProficiency in Microsoft OfficeAbility to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaborativelyExtensive knowledge of meat products, equipment and specificationsMust be able to work in a very cold, damp and noisy environment with possible slick floors and frequent exposure to knives, hot water and production machineryMust be able to work flexible hours including some Saturday workMust be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time and lift upwards of 60 poundsBilingual skills preferred but not requiredJBS is an equal opportunity employer.
