This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.As part of a diverse and hardworking team of experts, you will be responsible for working closely with engineering teams to support all manufacturing efforts and execution of processes related to building various launch vehicle components and sub-assemblies. A core responsibility of this role is providing engineering support and technical ownership of manufacturing processes throughout our factory.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. - Shifts available: Weekend Shift
- Friday- Sunday (6:00 AM- 6:30 PM)Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own and generate detailed manufacturing processes and work instruction in support of cleaning and testing aerospace hardware.
- Provide Manufacturing Engineering support to weekend shift as a primary point of contact for all engineering.
- Provide timely revisions and improvements to work instructions to support production schedules.
- Create and refine work instructions and work orders for tubing and launch vehicle sub-assemblies.
- Resolve manufacturing discrepancies for all owned processes by interfacing with the design engineering, production and quality teams
- Support weekend shift production manufacturing.
- Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to the meet volume production demand
- Find and eliminate process waste, streamline production processes and enable continuous improvement
- Design, develop and build/procure tooling for aid in the manufacture of launch vehicle subassembliesMinimum Qualifications:
- Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace engineering, other relevant fields with experience in a manufacturing environment accepted as well.
- 1+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer, preferably supporting aerospace and launch vehicle or spacecraft manufacturing.
- Experience with a variety of manufacturing principles. (Cleaning and passivation, harness fabrication, non-destructive testing, machining, mixed model assembly, etc.)
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Proven ability to work autonomously with sound engineering judgement
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications:
