#HIRINGaDIRECTPDS TECH Commercial is looking for a Safety & Reliability Engineer for our Aircraft -Cabin Electronics client in Kirkland, WA.POSITION SUMMARYThe Safety and Reliability Engineer applies S&R principles and techniques to influence the architecture and support development of safety-critical aerospace electronic systems following DO-254 and DO-178 processes. Will perform risk and reliability analysis in support of contracted programs, bids and proposals and internal research and development activities.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Development of Functional Hazard Analysis through System Safety Assessments, including Fault Tree Analysis and Common Cause Analysis with traceability of Basic Events to the FMEA process.
- Application of Reliability and Maintainability principles and techniques to support the development and production of aerospace electronic assemblies following DO-254 and DO-178 processes for IDALs A, B, or C.
- Development of Safety & Reliability program plans, reliability analyses and predictions: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF); and Bent Pin Analysis. -
- Familiarity with Windchill/Relex software and various 217 handbook and EPRD/NPRD methodologies
- Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and partition electronic circuitry into functional blocks
- Familiarity with overall ARP-4761 System Safety process for Commercial applications and MIL-STD-882e System Safety process for Military applications
- Ability to work in a fast paced and team structured environment and to be productive as a remote employee (if applicable)
- Complete Safety and Reliability tasks to support product development on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with ARP4761 or MIL-STD-882E.
- Complete analyses and safety assessments on schedule and within budget.
- Support the development team in identifying appropriate circuits and interfaces with safety implications if exposed to fault conditions.
- Help define the Fault Insertion Test (FIT) and reliability substantiation strategy and support the testing effort.
- Participate in design reviews and other presentations, including preparation of materials.
- Communicate promptly and effectively with internal and external customers to clarify and resolve safety, reliability, and maintainability issues.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related
- Seven (7) or more years of related experience
- Possess ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and partition circuitry into functional blocks
- Familiar with Windchill/Relex software and 217Plus reliability prediction model
