Job Title: Board-Certified Neonatologist (Practice Medical Director) If you are passionate about leading clinical excellence in the field of Neonatology, we invite you to apply for a position at a premier healthcare facility in Roanoke, Virginia, specifically at Carilion Clinic Children s Hospital. This institution features a high-acuity Level IIIB NICU with 60 beds and approximately 625 annual admissions. The facility is also affiliated with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, ensuring a robust academic environment that fosters growth and learning. Job Responsibilities: - Provide clinical care in a Level IIIB NICU.
- Serve as Practice Medical Director, overseeing clinical operations and provider performance.
- Lead and implement quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Drive clinical innovation and program development within the neonatal service line.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and academic partners to expand neonatal services.
- Participate in teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents.
- Engage in Grand Rounds, simulation Boot Camps, and educational programming.
- Mentor residents in quality improvement and research projects.
- Support scholarly and academic initiatives in partnership with the medical school.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary pediatric subspecialists.
- Utilize advanced neonatal therapies such as high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy.
Qualifications: - Board Certified in Neonatology (not accepting board eligible candidates).
- MD or DO degree.
- Virginia Medical License (or willingness to obtain).
- Leadership experience in NICU or clinical program development.
- Neonatology experience (experienced candidates only).
- Recent NPDB Self Query Report.
- DEA required (must be obtained prior to start).
License and Certification Requirements: - Board Certified in Neonatology.
- MD or DO degree, eligible for hospital credentialing.
- Virginia Medical License (or willingness to obtain).
