SLAIT Consulting is currently seeking a Sr. Server Implementation Engineer for our client in Richmond, VA. The Server Implementation Engineer must be capable of using established processes and tools to support a mid-size to large IT environment. He/She will evaluate data and develop plans for timely completion of assigned tasks and will provide technical guidance to peers and business owners.



The ideal candidate is mid-level to senior-level Windows Server engineer possessing a broad knowledge of various operating systems with emphasis on Windows. Strong knowledge of scripting to enhance daily administration tasks on standalone and clustered platforms, in multiple-tier network. Candidate must have experience in implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting HBA/SAN connections. Candidate should have knowledge of VMware hypervisors with Hyper V experience considered a plus. Candidate will provide recommendations for improving existing systems, knowledge transfer of expertise, and assist with staff development.



Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Experience with VMware and Windows server operating systems

• Experience with HBA/SAN implementation

• Basic understanding of database and application functions

• Comprehensive knowledge of network technologies, i.e., Switch, Firewall, Router

• Strong troubleshooting methodology with ability for creative problem-solving

• Experience with data center relocation analysis, planning and execution.

• Strong troubleshooting methodology with ability for creative problem-solving

• Understanding of the ITIL Framework

• Experience with IT infrastructure integration/consolidation projects

• Industry recognized certifications are preferred.

• Experience with various hardware platforms (HP, Dell, IBM, CISCO)

• Experience migrating older server technologies to newer standards

• Self motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
