Adelphi Medical Staffing is seeking a psychiatrist to provide locum tenens coverage at a facility located in Williamsburg, VA. Candidates must have experience working with acute adults inpatient populations. Job Quick Facts: --- Ref : BD-114-29 --- Profession: Physician --- Specialty: Psychiatrist --- Job Type: Contract/Locum --- Location: Williamsburg, VA --- Coverage Type: Clinical --- Coverage Period: 3-6 months --- Facility Type: Hospital --- Start Date: ASAP --- Shift Schedule: Mon to Fri, 8am - 5pm; with 1 Hour Lunch Break --- Once a month, Participation in Lunch Coverage Call (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) --- Patient Demography: Adults (male & female) --- Caseload: 40-45 (varies by ward and assignment) --- Rate: $200-$215/hr Requirements: --- Active VA license --- BC/BE in General , Geriatric Or Forensic Psychiatry --- BLS/ACLS Certification --- DEA Certificate --- Proficiency in EHR (Cerner Millennium) documentation --- 3 more years as a Physician/Practitioner --- Strong experience working with patients having Serious Mental Illness (SMI) --- Psychiatric Crisis Management and Forensic experience, a plus --- Experience working with adult admissions or geriatric admissions and acute and chronic health management of adult and geriatric populations. --- Comfortable working on admissions work up and potential rapid turnover Responsibilities include but are not limited to: --- Responsible for patient care that includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient population. --- Serves as medical consultant to the attending psychiatrist/practitioner. --- Completes admission medical assessments (including history and physical examinations, mental status examination) and entering admission orders. --- Orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures. --- Monitors patients' progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as needed. --- Consults with authorized representatives/legal guardians on patient medical status. --- Collaborates with attending psychiatric practitioner if needed providing DSM-5 Diagnoses that are valid, complete, and supported by timely and appropriate assessment. --- Provides coverage to the medical clinic, the admission suit to ensure the admission process is completed. --- Prescribes medications at the lowest effective dose in accordance with rational clinical practices. Assesses and address medication side-effects and report adverse drug reactions. --- Ensures timely and quality documentation (admissions, follow-up and annual, etc.) in patient records in accordance with policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
