Service Advisor Job Responsibilities

Greet customers and establish rapport to understand their service needs.
Schedule service appointments and coordinate with the service department.
Advise customers on necessary/suggested services and maintenance based on vehicle inspection and manufacturer guidelines.
Provide customers with detailed explanations of the service work to be performed, along with the costs and time estimates.
Document services requested by the customer and prepare detailed work orders for the service department.
Monitor the progress of vehicle repairs and services to ensure timely completion.
Update customers on the status of their vehicle, including any changes in service or repair timelines.
Promote and sell additional services and products, aligning with customer needs and vehicle maintenance schedules.
Process customer payments and manage billing and invoicing for services rendered.
Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with service work and to address any concerns or issues.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of automotive products, services, and the latest industry trends.
Manage service records and customer history in an organized and confidential manner.
Work closely with service technicians and parts department to ensure proper stock levels and availability of frequently used parts.
Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve them to encourage repeat business.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with service techniques and customer service best practices.







Job Requirements

Proven experience as a Service Advisor or similar role in the automotive industry
Knowledge of automotive service and repair procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to explain complex technical issues to customers in an understandable manner
Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle customer queries and complaints effectively
Proficiency in service advisor software and tools as well as MS Office or equivalent
Familiarity with automotive parts and inventory management
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in mechanical or automotive services is a plus
Valid Driver's License
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training to keep skills current
Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays as required
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image
