Be part of our clinical team helping the greater Richmond community! We are currently seeking a Licensed or Licensed eligible professional to provide Intake & Assessment Services and Outpatient Psychotherapy services to adults who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness, co-occurring diagnoses, and children & adolescents who have been classified as seriously emotionally disturbed and/or at risk. The use of concurrent/collaborative documentation coupled with state of the art technology, offers our team a dynamic and compelling experience for its staff. The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work as part of a team of clinicians in office-based, telehealth, and community based settings.
Essential Functions
Performs intakes, client assessments and diagnostic interviews; conducts mental health and substance use assessments and monitors level of functioning.
Assists client in identifying self-determined goals and jointly prepare individualized service plan.
Develops and facilitates psycho-educational groups; provides individual, family and group therapy; implements treatment plans; coordinates daily treatment schedule.
Coordinates case management services; coordinates and links client to community resources and medical services; interfaces with other service providers and client support system.
Provides crisis intervention and prevention services to individuals and families.
Provides consultation, education and prevention services.
Documents and charts information about client assessment, diagnostic studies, individual service plans, progress notes, quarterly and annual reviews, discharge summaries and other client related data, correspondence, medical records, etc; prepares and submits grant documentation.
Monitors and audits clinical and medical records and practices for compliance with regulatory, reimbursement and agency standards; reviews documentation for accuracy; assists with reviewing division policies and procedures.
Represents clients and Authority in court and legal proceedings.
Provides transportation assistance.
Serves on a variety of committees as directed; prepares and distributes agendas; attends and participates in a variety of meetings.
Attends professional conferences and trainings as required.
Supervises student interns as directed.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of providing care to the emotionally disturbed, socially dysfunctional, behaviorally disordered, mentally ill and/or substance abusive clients and their families; thorough knowledge of community resources and human services network; thorough knowledge of community-based behavioral health principles and psychotherapeutic treatment techniques; thorough knowledge of the theories and techniques of counseling and crisis intervention; thorough knowledge of intake techniques and procedures; ability to evaluate and screen clients; ability to prepare adequate records and to report findings and data effectively; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, community partners, medical personnel, law enforcement, State and Federal agency representatives and the general public.
Education and Experience
Current VA license as LCSW, LPC, LCP or LMFT with an advanced degree in social work, psychology, or counseling and at least two years post-graduate experience in service delivery with children and/or adults experience mental health needs is preferred.
Licensed eligible candidates will be considered if registered with the Virginia Board of Health Professionals and within 6 months of licensure.
Spanish and English Bilingual skills preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred in both Spanish and English.
Qualifying staff will be eligible for a $4K sign-on bonus as defined by the terms and conditions of the approved sign-on bonus policy.
Special Requirements
Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
