Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience.Required: - Navy experience as a Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar (ST, ET, or IT) or Surface Navy experience working in similar rates.
- 5-10 years of experience with AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, AN/BLQ-10, or Submarine Weapon Launchers, or comparable combat systems.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems is currently seeking a CWL Test and Evaluation Specialist out of our Manassas, VA location.We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven CWL Test and Evaluation Specialist to join our dynamic team. We lead the charge in designing, developing, producing, integrating, and sustaining the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) on both U.S. and Australian submarines, as well as the Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS) on U.S. and Foreign Military submarines. Our dedicated CWL and MTWS team collaborates closely with the Navy, internal production teams, and industry partners to ensure the flawless delivery and operation of these critical systems in laboratory and submarine environments.This position is 100% on-site and located in Manassas, VirginiaKey Responsibilities: - Crafting comprehensive test procedures.
- Proficiently utilizing electrical measurement tools, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Conducting Verification and Validation for corrective changes.
- Performing installations, rip-outs, testing, and validation of tactical systems.
- Assisting in configuring the lab in accordance with relevant drawings and port maps.
- Supporting informal and formal test events, as well as other customer-driven test activities.
- Identifying, analyzing, and documenting software, firmware, and hardware defects and collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Supporting the Logistics team in the development of installation and operation procedures.
- Employing a professional and confident approach when working with various engineering groups and external entities to define, document, analyze, conduct, and interpret tests.
- Identifying functional issues and proposing effective resolutions.
- Operating in a fast-paced, integrated product development team comprising professionals from multiple contracting organizations and DoD laboratory entities.
- Developing and analyzing test cases while providing regular progress updates.
- Reporting to a manager, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy in your work.
- Some travel required (in support of test events in government labs, as well as shipboard installations in domestic and international locations).What sets you apart:
- Proficiency in software testing and analysis.
- 5-10 years of experience with AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, AN/BLQ-10 or Submarine Weapon Launchers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- General knowledge of network configurations, operations, and commands.
