Description This position is in support of the Department of State (DOS) as a part of the Vanguard 2.2.1 contractThe candidate will be responsible for the development of Virtualization solutions utilizing VMWare and Cloud technologiesThe candidate will research, analyze, evaluate and integrate as necessary new and emerging technologies in order to find ways to deliver a superior IT environment to the bureaus in a cost effective and secure mannerThe candidate will support the continuing goal of incorporating these innovative technologies into the Department's equipment modernization programSome travel to Colorado may be requiredDescription of Duties--- Execute the duties and responsibilities as a member of the System Integrity Office (SIO).--- Design, integrate, and deploy VMWare IT solutions.--- Provide operational engineering support to enterprise-level solutions using virtual server hosting, backup solutions, off-site data replication and service level storage solutions.--- Provision Virtual Machines and patches to the software and hardware hosting infrastructure.--- Participate in on-call after-hours support rotation, responding to support calls after-hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns.--- Update system and process documentation and user guides as needed diagrams and SOPs as neededQualifications Required Education & Experience--- BS and 14+ years of related experience; Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree--- VMWare and vSphere design, integration and deployment.--- Knowledge or Training on VMware and ESX 6.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.--- Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.--- Experience working with customers to capture/document requirementsRequired Clearance--- US Citizenship--- Active Top Secret Security Clearance Desired Experience--- Cloud technologies with an emphasis on Azure or Amazon Web Services.--- Active Directory experience, particularly in a large environment.--- Strong scripting skills.--- NetApp storage administration and operation experience.--- LAN/WAN networking experience.--- CommVault integration and administration experience.--- Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.--- DOS processesSAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadlineCovid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boostersCustomer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
