SUMMARY (3-5 sentences maximum that summarize the team and the role): The Site Safety Specialist coordinates the development and hands-on implementation of a comprehensive industrial safety program for an Andersen business unit. Ensures the alignment with Corporate Safety objectives and safe procedures, awareness, and training are conducted with a goal to achieve continuous improvement for the reduction of work related injuries/illnesses and related cost reduction strategies. Achieve compliance obligations with applicable safety and health standards. This position is open to relocation. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES : - As they relate to a specific business unit, leads in the development and coordination of Andersen's safety programs and standards to implement best practices and achieve and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state & local codes and regulations. Takes the lead on site OSHA visits/contact.
- Provide and/or coordinate site specific safety training/testing (e.g. incident investigation, new employee orientation, lockout/tagout, powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, safety inspections, job safety analysis, audiometric testing ,LOTO etc.) as necessary and/or directed by Corporate Safety or Plant Management in order to address hazards and comply with relevant standards.
- Work with site manufacturing engineering to conduct safety assessments of new or modified equipment/processes in accordance with Andersen's Safety Assessment Procedure. Participates with engineering in problem solving/resolution exercises.
- Create/customize detailed safety programs/procedures to meet site specific environment as needed and ensures availability of PPE.
- Conducts ergonomic assessments to identify risk factors and work with engineering to implement control measures to address identified ergonomic risk factors.
- Supports location assessments (e.g. audits, inspections, accident investigations, etc.); with site management and recommends & assists in the execution of corrective actions. Trains auditors as needed.
- Coordinate annual safety strategy development and tracking at the site level. Evaluate safety related data and conduct loss analysis to guide strategic direction/focus areas. Coordinate with business unit in safety goals setting process to include leading and lagging indicators.
- Works with Disability Management and site Supervision in regard to administration of workers compensation and return to work processes.
- Leads cross functional teams and plant safety committee. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
