Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dynamic DC Director. The ideal candidate will possess a four-year degree, a proven track record of leadership in distribution center or warehousing environments, and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. The Distribution Center Director will oversee all operations within the distribution center, which is expected to have over 500 employees.
Responsibilities:--
Lead and manage all aspects of the distribution center's operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards and procedures.
Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize performance, streamline processes, and achieve operational objectives.
Hire, train, mentor, and motivate a large team of employees, including department managers and supervisors.
Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track productivity, quality, safety, and customer service metrics.
Monitor and analyze operational performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with other departments, including logistics, transportation, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety, environmental, and labor laws.
Develop and manage the distribution center's budget, including labor costs, equipment expenses, and operational expenditures.
Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and ensure accurate inventory levels.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the distribution center.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in distribution center or warehousing operations, including at least 3 years in a senior management role.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a large team.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.
Knowledge of distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology solutions used in distribution center operations.
Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving key performance targets.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support the needs of the business.
