Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the efficient execution of daily tasks and long-term objectives. Strong communication skills, effective collaboration across functions, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for success in this dynamic and impactful role.Key Responsibilities: - Effectively organize daily activities and oversee proper and efficient daily work of day shift operations personnel.
- Work closely with Company Environmental and Safety personnel targeting zero incidents and exceedances working towards continuous improvement of site performance.
- Lead training, and execution of Operational tasks.
- Manage the record keeping of plant training and daily operations logs.
- Manage the operational rotation and coverage schedules.
- Review daily production reports, provide guidance and oversight to keep boiler and turbine performance at maximum levels.
- Proficiently inspect boilers and machinery during outage and non-outage periods to ensure equipment availability.
- Assist with compile various reports at plant, regional, and corporate levels.Qualifications:
- Minimum education of a High School Diploma or GED - Bachelor of Science preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Power Plant environment (or related field), 2-3 years as a supervisor required.
- The ASME, QRO/CFO Certification is desirable, or must be able to qualify for this certification within six months of employment.
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).Physical Demands:
- Ability to tolerate frequent standing, walking, crouching, crawling, and kneeling.
- Frequently ascends or descends ladders, stairs, elevated walkways, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Frequently lifts or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts or moves up to 50 pounds.
- Position requires working near and around operating mechanical parts and mobile equipment and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.
- Capable of wearing personal protective equipment, such as hearing protectors and respirators, as necessary.Shift Work:Monday through Friday day shift with the ability to support outages and night shift as required.What Covanta Offers You:
