Unit Description:Interventional Radiology nurses play a crucial role in the patient experience during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.IR nurses are responsible for demonstrating critical thinking and time management skills specific to procedural nursing; performing comprehensive patient assessments that, under the direction of IR providers, guide patient care and intervention implementation- in routine and critical clinical circumstances; managing their patient's hemodynamic and respiratory status; establishing and maintaining IV access; titrating vasoactive intravenous medications; safely administering moderate sedation; accurately documenting in EPIC; utilizing and troubleshooting invasive monitoring devices; providing pre-, intra-, and post procedure support and education; and advocating for their patients.Greater than two years of experience as an RN is required. - Previous experience in the administration and monitoring of patients receiving moderate sedation is recommended. Nursing experience in critical care nursing is preferred.Call includes one weekend (Friday evening-Monday morning) and four weekdays (Monday through Thursday) every nine weeks. Set call schedule.
