Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a motivated Systems Engineering Lead to join the Force Development Evaluation (FDE) team for an exciting opportunity supporting the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system program. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a talented and highly-skilled FDE team that supports Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) with Operational Test Launch pre-flight mission planning, launch support, post-flight performance and accuracy analysis, and development of accuracy nuclear planning factors. This role offers a unique opportunity to support an active test launch program with a team of subject matter experts. The advancement of technical skills and analysis capabilities are emphasized while producing high-quality products and effectively supporting the government customers.This position will: - Serve as lead of the FDE Operational Test Launch Support Subgroup
- Generate pre-launch documents and briefings for each Operational Test Launch
- Interface with AFNWC and AFGSC customers during launch preparation activities
- Coordinate FDE launch night support activitiesIn addition, this position will directly support some of the following engineering analysis tasks performed under the other FDE Subgroups:
- Perform pre-flight mission planning tasks that include defining test objectives and range sensor requirements, targeting the mission, analyzing hazards and range safety constraints, and producing 6DOF flight predictions
- Provide engineering support to investigate missile flight test anomalies, provide analysis to determine cause, and develop corrective action solutions
- Process Booster and Reentry Vehicle telemetry data
- Perform Missile System, Reentry Vehicle Body Dynamics, and Arming & Fuzing performance analysis
- Determine the Reentry Vehicle Best Estimate of Trajectory using metric tracking and weather data and use the Best Estimate of Trajectory to determine weapon system miss and all sub-component misses
- Perform Inertial Measurement Unit accuracy analysis using GPS/telemetry data to estimate guidance and control contribution to weapon system miss
- Develop engineering estimates of accuracy, maintain physics-based engineering models, and perform statistical analysis
- Develop, maintain, and modify software tools to determine vehicle performance and flight accuracy.

- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field from an ABET accredited program
- 7+ years related experience (5+ years with a Master's degree)
- Project leadership experience
