Position Details: Unit: Med/Tele | 22 Beds | 6:1 Ratio Unit Overview: Our Med/Tele unit cares for a diverse patient population, including post‑operative patients with chest tubes or surgical drains, individuals requiring peritoneal dialysis, and cardiac patients on non‑titrated drips. This unit offers excellent exposure for nurses interested in cardiac, neuro critical care, procedural nursing, or PACU/post‑op career paths. What You’ll Do: Provide patient‑centered care and involve patients/families in decision‑making Assess and document patient needs, education, and care plans Perform bedside hand‑off reports and maintain strong communication across the care team Monitor diagnostics, labs, and patient status to support safe clinical decision‑making Participate in unit huddles, process improvement, and professional development Delegate tasks appropriately and support team‑based care Complete annual competencies and maintain required certifications Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) Active RN licensure (or ability to obtain) in the hiring state/compact Required: BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire May Be Required Depending on Unit: ACLS, PALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, or other unit‑specific certifications Preferred: Previous Med/Tele or acute care experience Why Mercy?
