Smartsource is looking for a Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a supplier to the outdoor industry servicing mass and specialty retailers.



We are looking for a structured professional with leadership of the entire IT function and who has experience merging multiple companies together.



Location: The position is located near Chicago and does require occasional travel in the US.



Salary: $150K- $200K plus a great line up of benefits.



About the company: Domestic manufacturing and Import business servicing all major retailers with consumer products for Outdoor Sports Enthusiasts and Hobbyist.



This customer will be well positioned with leading brands across the outdoor product categories and provide a superior product line to dedicated consumers and valued retail partners.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Integration Steering Committee (ISC), the Project Leader is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects according to predetermined time lines and budgets. Building and managing project teams, reporting to the Project Sponsor & ISC, and ensuring alignment with the projects’ charter is central to this position.



Responsibilities:

• Manage project development from initiation to closure• Be accountable for project results along with project sponsor & ISC• Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing• Complete work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task• Provide a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed• Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders• Act as a facilitator & mediator between stakeholders and team members• Resolve any issues and solve problems in a manner that meets the project charter guidelines• Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with project change request forms• Determine if external consultants or contractors will be required to complete project plan - If required, recruit and manage appropriate staffing resources• Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to sponsor & ISC• Lead, coach, and motivate project team members on a proactive basis• Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved• Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution• Safely crash unsuccessful or re-prioritized projects• Ensure all project documents are safely archived following project completion



Job Requirements• Minimum 4 year degree in business or a related field• MBA and/or PMI certification is a major asset• 5 years work experience in as a project management leader of Experience Developing Project Plans, Tasks & Budgets of Coaching, Supervision & Staffing a Project o Process Improvement Leadership o Tracking Budgeted & Actual Project Expenses o Tracking Performance Management & Metrics• Specific experience integrating multiple organizations• Familiarity with project management tools and/or software packages• Demonstrated leadership managing a multiple level staff• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment• Strategic thought process and ability to communicate long term view and benefits• Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities• Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills• Ability to elicit cooperation from ISC, senior management and other functional departments



Personal Experience Requirements• Multiple IT Implementations at various levels of involvement• IT Leadership at a Director or Vice President or CIO level• IT team development• Business process design & solution implementation• Architecture design is an asset
