The Infrastructure Principal Architect role is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive infrastructure solutions that encompass Compute (including virtualization), Storage/Data Protection, Datacenters, Cloud Computing, and Observability. You will work closely with McKesson Technology cross-functional teams and report directly to the VP of Infrastructure. This role requires an extensive understanding of infrastructure and architecture principles, and the ability to translate requirements into innovative & robust technical solutions. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions that align with business goals and technology strategies.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure architecture blueprints, standards, and best practices for infrastructure platforms.
- Ensure observability is integrated into infrastructure solutions for proactive monitoring and management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Provide expert guidance to the infrastructure team and other technical staff.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities and performance.
- Collaborate with the cyber security team to ensure that infrastructure solutions comply with security standards and best practices.
- Participate in the budgeting and planning process for infrastructure projects.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates on project status and infrastructure initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence aligned to McKesson's i2Care and iLead values to ensure development and growth.
Education/Training: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications in related areas preferred.
