Quality is in our DNA- is it in yours?This PRN opportunity is available on the first shift in the Microbiology Department of Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) in Austin, Texas.In This Role, You Will: - Play a vital role in the patient care by performing moderate to high-complexity microbiology testing.
- Analyze, review, and report test results with accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify when corrective action is necessary and implement effective solutions.
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment handling biological and chemical hazards.
- Promote safety, compliance, and quality control within the lab.What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor degree or higher in a chemical, biological, or medical science.
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory, or certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) in Microbiology or Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent).
- A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies, with enthusiasm for continuous professional development.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.Bonus Points If You Have:
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) in Microbiology or Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience in microbiology.
- Laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing.What We Offer:
