Penetrant Inspector-Ft Worth Aerospace! Location: FORT WORTH, TX, United States Job Family : Manufacturing Job Type : Regular Posted : Feb 22, 2024 Job ID: 46678 Job Description Position Summary: Prepares and processes parts through a fluorescent penetrant inspection system, evaluates, and makes accept/reject decisions. Inspects parts using fluorescent penetrant inspection processes and equipment. Performs job independently under minimal supervision. Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions: - Immerse, paint or spray parts with fluorescent penetrant and let penetrant dwell on parts for a specified amount of time.
- Water rinse penetrant from parts, dry parts, develop parts, and then inspect parts under black light for surface indications. Make accept / reject decisions utilizing SPD or customers specifications and document inspection results per SPD approved procedures.
- Perform and document daily, weekly and monthly process checks per SPD approved procedures. Ensure all equipment and gages utilized have current calibration stickers.
- Remain familiar with all codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the penetrant method.
- Understand and perform all job duties in accordance with SPD safety guidelines, including use of MSDS sheets as required.
- Support co-workers as assigned by department Supervisor, Lead or Certified Penetrant Level 3.
- Develop penetrant techniques or work instructions as required per SPD or customer specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance on penetrant equipment as required per SPD procedures.
- Maintains a satisfactory high level of performance while following appropriate procedures and observing all pertinent safety rules and requirements
